Ilgın Seymen X Godiva

Ilgın Seymen X Godiva is a large scale ephemeral project commissioned by Godiva for the occasion of the brand's entry to markets in Turkey with the Master Pieces series. The site specific installation covers the exhibition space of Istanbul '74 from wall to wall, total 25 meters long, with over 4000 products painted all in white. The composition of products used in the installation includes the whole product range of a supermarket. They are also placed in such order that starts with beverages on the right end, followed by food, self cleansing products and ends with cleaning products for domestic use on the left end. Everything is painted in white except Godiva chocolates. Alongside baskets filled with fruits and vegetables, a kid's legs are sticking out from one of the five shopping carts, filled with chocolate boxes as if he couldn't resist but jumped in that chocolate bulk.  While the room gives the impression of a supermarket in a surreal way, following the architecture of the room creates a stage setting for Godiva section to shine right in the middle. With the help of lighting, gold sides of Godiva packages literally shines on white shelves while the rest of the content fades out in white. The white supermarket installation opened on 28 March 2017 at Istanbul '74 with a press conference of Godiva's announcement, followed by the exhibition opening and stayed open to public for a week.
